About Jordan McKinney
I grew up in a small town in the Texas Panhandle. My parents divorced when I was four, and that loss shaped me early. I came to faith in Christ at six, but the years that followed were marked by insecurity, pain, and searching. I wrestled with whether I was truly lovable and tried to fill that ache through addiction, approval-seeking, and self-destruction. I doubted I could even finish community college. Along the way, I hurt people I loved and drifted from God.
God’s mercy never let me go.
He drew me back to Himself and led me to my future wife, whom I met at a prayer meeting. Marriage, however, exposed what was broken in me. Years of conflict—combined with the grief of losing my father—left me angry, depressed, and exhausted. Even then, God pursued me.
I eventually enrolled at Dallas Theological Seminary feeling unprepared and overwhelmed. At my lowest point, I searched Scripture looking for a way out of my marriage. Instead, I found God’s Word calling me to surrender.
That surrender changed everything.
By God’s grace, our marriage was restored, I completed seminary, and we were blessed with three children. More than a decade later, our marriage is strong, our faith is deeper, and my confidence in the goodness and truth of the gospel continues to grow.
That journey shapes everything I do through The Praxis Principle.
The Praxis Principle
Praxis means putting theory into practice.
The Bible tells one unified story of God’s redemption—through deeply flawed people who learned to reckon their lives to God’s will out of love for Him. God meets us with undeserved kindness, covering our past and future, and forming us through faithful obedience.
Praxis is about living in the fullness of Christ—not perfectly, but faithfully.
My Mission
I help Christians reconnect the gospel to everyday life—especially marriage, family, and discipleship.
My mission is to help burned-out or discouraged believers overcome obstacles to trusting God and rediscover the joy of His grace. Whether you’re new to the faith or weary from the journey, renewal always begins by seeing God’s goodness clearly again.
My aim is simple:
to help you take real steps toward the kindness of Christ.
What We Believe
We believe the gospel is the power of the Triune God for salvation and the foundation of all Christian living. Scripture is our final authority—the norming norm that cannot be normed—sufficient for faith, life, and spiritual formation.
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ secure our place in God’s kingdom and shape how we live today. We seek to reckon our lives to God’s vision with humility and hope, trusting in the resurrection, the return of Christ, and the restoration of all things.
Praxis - living in the fullness of Christ.
The Bible is a story of God's redemption.
It’s filled with flawed individuals who, despite their severe flaws, reckoned their lives to the will of God out of a love for God. He has covered our past and future with His lovingkindness, making each step in our journey of faithfulness a reflection of His undeserved kindness.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help burned-out Christians overcome obstacles to trusting God and enjoy His works of grace in their lives. If you are a new Christian and eager to learn or a jaded Christian in need of enchantment, the way forward always starts with seeing God's goodness first.
What We Believe
We believe that the gospel is the power of the Triune God for salvation and the foundation of all Christian living. The Word of God is the norming norm that cannot be normed, revealing these truths sufficiently for faith. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ have secured our place in God’s kingdom, and this truth guides our approach to every area of life. We’re committed to reckoning our lives with God’s vision, even as we acknowledge our imperfections. Our hope lies in the resurrection, return of Christ, and restoration of all things.
Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9
